La artista nos muestra una selección de sus piezas, desde las más grandes en hierro hasta pequeñas figuras de bronce. No os lo perdáis!

Another festival? Yes! Because it is the season. But this one is in Madrid so no need for hotel booking or camping, nice and easy…the way we like it! Día de la Música takes place in el Matadero the 22nd and 23rd of June and some of the groups that are coming are Two Door Cinema Club, Metronomy, Twin Shadow, James Blake, Maxïmo Park, Azealia Banks, Love of Lesbian and many more. Tickets for the day are 40€ and abonos for both days 66€. Not bad no?

Saldillo de Becara 2012

For the ones not familiar with Becara, it is Madrid’s own version of a concept design store, mixing in an artful way traditional with modern and ethnic design. Their main store is located in the heart of the Salamanca neighborhood in c/ Juan Bravo, 18 and is a must-see. They also organize every year a mercadillo in a huge warehouse outside Madrid where you would find furniture, fabrics, tableware etc. for much more affordable prices. The Saldillo de Becara starts today the 3rd of May and lasts about a month. A great gift idea for the upcoming Mother’s Day .

Vida y muerte de Marina Abramovic en el Teatro Real

El Real arriesga y acierta con este espectáculo a medio camino entre el teatro, la performance y la ópera. Las interpretaciones magistrales de Willem Dafoe y el cantante Antony, dejan en segundo plano a la propia Abramovic.
El hilo conductor de la obra lo lleva Dafoe, cuya representación deja al público hipnotizado y boquiabierto.
Para entender bien el espectáculo hay que documentarse previamente sobre Marina Abramovic, ya que muchos de los pasajes hacen referencia a performances suyas, como la escena del caballo o el encuentro de Abramovic y Dafoe en la muralla china.
Sin duda el espectáculo no deja indiferente a nadie.

La Bolsa

Ahora que la economía y la palabra “crisis” está en boca de todos, nos interesamos por el edificio que guarda toda la actividad económica de nuestro país, el Palacio de la Bolsa.
Ubicado en la Plaza de la Lealtad, este imponente edificio fue diseñado por el arquitecto Enrique María Repullés e inaugurado en el año 1893. De estilo neoclásico junto con una decoración modernista, una de las cosas que más llama la atención al visitante es la imponente fachada con sus 6 columnas corintias.
En el interior del Palacio encontramos frescos de Luis Taberner, que pintó elementos característicos de cada una de las provincias españolas. El mobiliario que encontramos es el original.

Para visitarlo es necesario inscribirse previamente en su web (www.bolsamadrid.es) o en los teléfonos 91 589 10 20 ó 91 589 11 62 de 9:30 horas a 13:30 horas de lunes a viernes. La visita es gratuita y en los 60 minutos que dura aproximadamente, un guía nos contará los datos más relevantes del palacio y satisfará cualquier duda o curiosidad que nos ronde por la mente.

Feel like having a drink? And maybe a bite? In a relaxed place, not too fancy but with a modern twist? Then this is the place to be. Lamucca is a great place decorated in a cool and modern design. In fact, if you like their furniture you can even buy it. They carry an international menu, from hamburgers, pizzas to Arabic and Thai food and their wine selection is very tasty as well. Food is good and not too expensive. All together great option for a ‘copa’ in a relaxed atmosphere!
